Our Community Lecture Series on October 17, 2019 featured Dr. Tamara Long from Abilene Christian University.
Dr. Tamara Long worked with faculty and students, speaking to us on “Helping Students Realize their Potential: Understanding Core Strengths That Influence Student Learning and Development”
Dr. Tamara Long, currently serves at the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Abilene Christian University (ACU). She has worked in Christian higher education for 17-years. Tamara currently oversees Admissions & Recruiting, International Admissions, Marketing, New Student Orientation, Academic Advising, Student Services, and Financial Counseling at ACU. Tamara earned a bachelors of science in Psychology and masters of arts in Communication from ACU, and a doctorate in higher education from Azusa Pacific University. Her research is focused on college student success and college student spirituality. As an administrator Tamara has contributed to enrollment growth, improved retention, implemented the Gallup Strengths – making ACU a strengths based campus, and built a centralized advising and student service center. Tamara lives in Abilene, Texas with her husband and three children.
